There has been considerable controversy over the past few years regarding various proposals for management of Hoosier National Forest. In addition to proposed vegetation management projects designed to improve forest health there are recent directives and bills aimed at expanding wilderness, designating a recreational area and preserving mature and old growth forest. This forum will provide information related to these and other management directions and provide the public with the opportunity to question experts involved in these decisions.
Speakers will include:
Michael Chaveas, Hoosier National Forest supervisor
Jeff Stant, Indiana Forest Alliance executive director
Sherry Mitchell-Bruker, Friends of Lake Monroe president.
