Did you know that Yellowwood State Forest drains into Lake Monroe via North Fork Salt Creek? Join the Friends of Lake Monroe on Sunday, October 30th, from 1:00 to 4:00 to explore a beautiful and important part of the Lake Monroe watershed. Naturalist Cathy Meyer will lead a leisurely paced but rugged 3-hour hike in the woods to admire the fall foliage. Learn about how land management in the watershed impacts water quality in Lake Monroe, our drinking water source. We hope to be joined by members of the newly formed Uplands Chapter of the Sierra Club. This hike is moderately strenuous – there will be uneven footing and hills! Dress appropriately and bring water.
Please RSVP by emailing volunteer@friendsoflakemonroe.org and providing your phone number in case we need to reschedule due to weather. Attendance is limited to 20 and carpooling is encouraged due to limited parking. Meeting address will be provided upon registration.
