The lake is a shared resource. Public involvement is key.

Project:  Public Involvement

Initiated:  April 2016

Team Leader:  Patty Denison

FOLM facilitates a dialogue between those who rely on the lake for drinking water, business revenue, and recreation. Lake Monroe is a shared resource, and we believe all stakeholders should be involved in its care.

What We’ve Accomplished:

1.

For over a year, the Steering Committee has hosted monthly meetings open to the public. Upcoming events are listed here.

2.

Members heard from guest speakers: Friends of Yellowwood, Indiana Lake Management Society, Indiana University Professor emeritus, Bill Jones

3.

Members increased awareness through newspaper articles in The Herald-Times and the Indiana Daily Student.
